They are often used for general diagnostics and follow-up.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Rigid cystoscopes<\/strong> have the advantage of being able to perform a wider range of procedures, such as biopsies, stone removal, or small tumor surgery.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Typical Procedures<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Preparation<\/strong> Patients are usually asked to urinate before entering the examination room to empty their bladder.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Anesthesia<\/strong> The doctor may use local anesthesia (applied to the urethra) or general anesthesia (anesthesia), depending on the type of endoscope and the purpose of the procedure.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Urethroscopic examination<\/strong> The doctor inserts a cystoscope through the urethra and may inject saline into the bladder to expand the bladder lining.
