1. Protection (Quadrivalent)
The quadrivalent vaccine was developed to protect against the four main types of influenza viruses expected to be prevalent in a given year:
- Influenza A (H1N1)
- Influenza A (H3N2)
- Influenza B (Victoria lineage)
- Influenza B (Yamagata lineage)
2. Dosage for Ages 15 and Older
- People aged 9 and older (including those 15 and older) who have previously received the vaccine should receive one dose.
- Booster shots should be given annually, as influenza virus strains change annually.
3. Recommended Vaccination Period
- Vaccines can be given year-round, but the recommended time is before an outbreak to maximize immunity.
- In Thailand, vaccinations are usually recommended before the rainy season (around March-May) and before the winter season (around October-November).
4. Importance of Vaccination
