Description
The Damon System is a type of orthodontic treatment that uses self-ligating brackets, or braces with built-in elastics, instead of using O-rings to hold the wire to the brackets like traditional metal braces.
How does the Damon System work?
- Damon braces feature a sliding door mechanism or clip that locks the wire directly into place, eliminating the need for elastic bands.
- Low Friction Because elastic bands are not used, the friction between the wire and the brackets is significantly lower, allowing for smoother, faster, and less painful tooth movement.
