Description
Breast cancer is a common cancer and the leading cause of death in women. Men also experience breast cancer, although less frequently. Approximately 90% of breast cancer cases arise from abnormal cell division within the milk ducts or mammary glands. It may spread through the lymphatic system to nearby organs, such as the lymph nodes in the armpit, and to other organs in the body, such as the bones, lungs, liver, and brain. Therefore, cancer is highly likely to be detected in both breasts, both early and after diagnosis. However, early detection increases the chances of successful treatment.
