Description
Breast cancer is a common cancer and the leading cause of death in women. Men also experience breast cancer, although less frequently. Approximately 90% of breast cancers arise from abnormal cell division within the milk ducts or mammary glands. It can spread through the lymphatic system to nearby organs, such as the lymph nodes in the armpit, and to other organs in the body, such as the bones, lungs, liver, and brain. Therefore, cancer is highly likely to occur in both breasts, both early and after diagnosis. However, early detection increases the chances of successful treatment.
Breast Cancer Screening…Prevention Before It’s Too Late
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Thai women.
But the good news is, if detected early,
there is a greater than 90% chance of complete cure.
Regular screening is therefore an important defense mechanism,
because early-stage breast cancer often has no symptoms.
Who should get a breast cancer screening?
- Women aged 35 and over
- Those with a family history of breast cancer
- Those who experience a lump, pain, or discharge from the nipple
- Those with high estrogen levels Or use long-term birth control pills.
