What is a gynecological examination?
A gynecological examination (G-check-up) is a test to identify abnormalities in a woman’s internal reproductive organs, including the uterus, ovaries, vagina, and cervix.
The doctor will perform both an external and internal examination to detect any hidden abnormalities.
They can also screen for serious diseases such as cervical cancer, ovarian cancer, or uterine tumors.
Who should have regular gynecological examinations?

- Those who are planning to become pregnant or taking birth control pills

Preparing for a Gynecological Examination
- When to have the examination The examination should be performed at least 7 days after your period has completely ended (do not perform the examination during your menstrual period).
- Abstain from sexual activity. Avoid intercourse for at least 24-48 hours before the examination.
- Avoid using vaginal products or douching. Or use a vaginal suppository at least 48 hours before the examination.
- Preparation You should urinate before entering the examination room.
